Arsenal Poised To Snatch Another Barça Youngster

Spanish Under-16 international Ignasi Miquel Pons looks set to join Arsenal in October. The 15-year-old centre-back is extremely highly rated and has spent four years at Barcelona's youth academy before a change of coaches led to him leaving. With Barça dithering, Arsene Wenger looks set to pounce, with Gunners scouts making the move to get the player signed up by his 16th birthday, in October. Although there is no suggestion of any foul play by Arsenal, there is sure to be some resentment on the part of Barcelona, who previously lost Cesc Fabregas, then 16, to the Gunners and more recently have seen 17-year-old Fran Merida, currently on loan at Real Sociedad, head for north London.
